So Many Training Options – So Little Time
Let’s face it, unless you are a professional bodybuilder, chances, are you do not spend all of your time at your local gym, training and working out. While you may wish you had the time, the reality is that “life” usually interferes.
This means that you have to do the “most” with the time you actually have, however, with the huge variety of “training” options available to us, how do you know which one(s) are the best suited for you and your short/long term goals.
- Determining your fitness goals is the first step. This includes short and long term goals – this because even more important if you have been training for a while, as your training sessions might very well have gone stale and become BORING. Time to re-assess;
- Once you have a better understanding of what you are aiming for, don’t hesitate to enlist the help of people who can help you get there. Personal trainer or dietitian can help you get to the next level. They can also help you structure a training program that will be both safe and effective.
- Consider trying new training methods. If you have been working out for a while, you may want to add speed training, body weight training or TRX Suspension training to your routines. These types of exercises are incredibly varied and have proven themselves to be welcome additions to any exercise workout – especially if you are also playing any type of sport.
- Do your own research. Find out as much as you can about what types of training are out there. You don’t have to stick with your (?) boring routines. There are some truly amazing workouts just waiting for you.
- Be realistic. Understand your body and your mind and work to blend the two together. Incorporating any type of change into your training routine will take some time and some discipline, but is worth it.
