How About Adding A Few Different Training Methods to your Routine?

Spring is here and Summer is fast approaching and, of course, while many of us will be “taking it easy” (after all, it IS summer time), it is the perfect time to start thinking about changing your regular workout routines.  Why not consider adding a few different components and really mixing it up.

Maybe you are thinking of training for a very specific event (marathon or charity event?) that will be held in the Fall – now is the perfect time to make some serious changes.

Of course, for many of us, summer simply means pulling out the bike, going for swims or hikes and, while all of these activities can certainly be considered “training”, there is also something to be said for building an entirely new training program and adding some “spice” to the mix.

Have you considered speed training?  The exercises associated with this type of workout will help you increase your speed, your coordination and your balance – while working out your stamina and resistance.  What about functional training?  Learning to correctly perform any type of motion, using the strength of your muscles is crucial for anybody who spends any time at the gym or, come to think of it, outside of the gym.  In fact, learning to perform any type of movement safely is crucial to all of us.

Finally, what about agility training?  Here again, whether you are an elite athlete or simply someone who likes to play a variety of sports, this type of training can be invaluable.  It will give you the edge you need to be all that you can be, to give you the physical AND mental ability that you need to bring yourself and your performance to the next level.

So, while you lounge around the pool this summer, how about taking a leap – right into a totally new, innovative, challenging and amazing training routine.
